This memorable afternoon and evening begins with a visit to historical Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. The hall’s enormous marble edifice towers over landscaped garden, graceful pavilions and placid ponds. The bronze statue of late President Chiang Kai-Shek looks out over the city from the main building.

After our dose of history, we shall visit one of the Seven New Wonders of this world. Towering above the city like a gigantic bamboo stalk it was designed to resemble, Taipei 101, the world’s tallest building at over 500 meters, is impossible to miss. It is the towering symbol of Taiwan's spirit and pride. In addition to holding the world record for height, Taipei 101 also holds the record for having the world’s fastest elevator, traveling at 1010 meters per minute.

After coming down from dizzying heights, we shall visit Taiwan’s top cultural attraction, The National Palace Museum. The museum houses the world's largest collection of priceless Chinese art treasures, one which spans China's nearly 5,000-year history. Most of the museum's 620,000 art objects were part of the Chinese imperial collection, which began over 1,000 years ago in the early Sung dynasty. After a fascinating guided tour through the museum, we will relax with a leisurely stroll through the imperial gardens.
